SAINT-JOSEPH TERRE D'ENCRE

Domaine Georges Vernay Saint-Joseph Terres d'Encre is a red wine made with the Syrah variety in Saint-Joseph by the Georges Vernay winery.

George Vernay is considered to be the creator of the Condrieu denomination in 1940. These are wines made from vines planted on steep granite slopes which, under his supervision, have become delicate and elegant. Now run by the third generation, Christine Vernay follows her grandfather's legacy, maintaining traditions and his respect for the strain and creating some of the best Côte-Rôtie wines.

Domaine Georges Vernay Saint-Joseph Terres d'Encre comes from 30-year-old vines planted on granite soil. 1.5 Ha of southeast facing terraces that cannot be reached with machinery. All the work in the vineyard is manual and the treatments are made with organic products. The grapes are harvested manually and placed in boxes.

When the Domaine Georges Vernay Saint-Joseph Terres d'Encre ripe grapes reach the winery, they are vinified. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. These are emptied after 2 to 3 weeks. It then ages in barrels for a year.
